Copy menu is greyed out in Microsoft Word. Ask Question 2. I'm running Word for Mac 2011 and the Copy menu is greyed out. Command-C works. This is on OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Word “save as” folder no longer original folder after Mavericks. Microsoft word 2011 not correcting words in OS X. Dec 8, 2015 - I also tried just exiting out and clicking save when it asks if i want to save the changes, but it just says, 'Alert, Document not saved.' No, when it didn't go according to plan I stopped! Wrong;-) OK, continued you instructions 1 > 6 and tested, it all now appears to be working fine, it was erratic before but I could always make it lose data if I tried, but now I havent been able to make it lose data once, so I am assuming you have sorted it for me, I tried before to delete all records and reload from archive and it didnt work, deleting that folder seems to have done the trick. I thought I was onto something when the Save button was greyed out, whats the point of having a button if you cant use it? Anyway, t hanks so much I really appreciate your time and patience with me.
